Biography

Ignacio Trelis, 1960. Contemporary Valencian artist deeply inspired and influenced by the Spanish School of Rome and the artistic movements of the 19th and the 20th century, renowned for their luminist precision.

His studies and research on techniques and artistic models, as well as the search for new ideas drive him to create his own personal and unique style.

He began his career as a talented landscape painter. In the 80’s he began to exhibit his work all over Spain. His travels around the world allow him to come into contact with other cultures, which can be noticed in his fascinating paintings.

His work is primarily characterized by highly realistic figurative art, combined with elements of subtle abstraction in the backgrounds.

Throughout his career, the artist has participated in numerous exhibitions in museums and galleries across Valladolid, Gerona, Murcia, Malaga, Madrid, San Lorenzo del Escorial, Lisbon and Florida, as well as in private collections in Europe, the U.S., Mexico and Japan.
